I had no idea that Debussy had been influenced by American ragtime but "Golliwogg's Cakewalk", the terminal segment of his 1908 "Children's Concerto" bears unmistakable traces of the style. As a huge ragtime enthusiast, I was excited to make this discovery. Plus, nothing eases the day like a little Debussy.
